Last Week, on 1st August, we were honored to be part of an incredible initiative! π
It is with great joy and a full heart that we announce our partnership with some truly amazing individuals and organizations, all coming together to bring back dignity to humanity. We are proud to be part of the Homeless of Kisumu project, an initiative that we believe will make a lasting difference in the lives of street kids in Kisumu. We are deeply passionate about this cause, and we know that the best way to change the world is through one good deed at a time. π
Our first day of activities was nothing short of heartwarming. We spent time playing with the boys, holding mentorship and empowerment sessions, and serving them a hot meal. Witnessing the impact of this simple act of kindness touched us all deeply, and we know that this is just the beginning. π
Homeless of Kisumu is an umbrella body formed by individuals and organizations dedicated to taking care of street kids in Kisumu. This initiative was inspired by the impactful work of Homeless of Nairobi, a philanthropy effort led by @Clifford Chianga Oluoch. We strongly believe that no child belongs on the street and that everyone deserves dignity, equality, and a chance to thrive. Our goal is to become life-changers for these children, ensuring they have the opportunity for a better life. π
Through this initiative, we aim to address the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDG 2: Zero Hunger β Providing a hot meal to children who often go without.
- SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing β Ensuring the physical and mental well-being of the children.
- SDG 10: Reducing Inequalities β Working towards a world where no child is left behind.
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals β Collaboration with other passionate organizations to achieve these goals.
Our key projects include:
- Feeding Program: We are committed to providing hot meals to the children, initially on a weekly basis, with plans to make it daily.
- Counseling and Mentorship: Engaging with the kids through sports, group activities, and personal development sessions.
- Hygiene and Wellbeing: Teaching the children about personal hygiene and overall well-being to improve their lives.
- Back to School Initiative: In the future, we plan to help reintegrate these children into the education system and eventually back to their families.
- Shelter Provision: Creating safe spaces for the children who are currently on the streets.
We are so grateful to the amazing partners who have come together for this cause, including Better Me Kenya, JIJENGE YOUTH GROUP, Dewo Ngima, L4L, Gahso, Jabulani Youths for Transformation (JAY4T), Organization of African Youth, Adopt A Family Na Kasoo, Armstrong Women Empowerment Centre, and Homeless of Nairobi. We couldnβt do this without you, and weβre excited to work alongside such passionate individuals and organizations. πͺ
We also appeal to more individuals, well-wishers, and organizations who would love to be part of this incredible cause. Together, we can bring back dignity to humanity and change the lives of these street children. Everyone deserves a chance at a better life, and it starts with us. π
Join us in making an impact, one good deed at a time. Letβs give these children the chance they deserve!
